1- Full Name : Anne Marie Thigpen 2- Where were your born, raised and lived? · Born and raised in a French family in the heart of Montreal, Quebec. · I moved down here close to 4 years ago to live with my husband. 3- Do you have formal /informal or artistic education you want to include in your bio? · I always learn on my own by borrowing books in local librairies : anatomy, botanical, regional landscapes, visual communication. · I graduated in Graphic Design – Desk publishing in 2000 · Worked in Graphic Design, pre-printing, and web publishing. As a secretary, a warehouse clerk, and presently in the frame department at Hobby Lobby. 4- How long have you been an artist and how did you become an artist? · My mom always painted. I was born with a pencil in my hand maybe… I believe this is a Gods gift that I have to keep improving. 5- What would you tell about your artwork to viewers? · Pencil is my first medium for everything. Portraits with pencil, · Landscapes, animals and flowers with aquarelles · And lately I discovered Acrylics, started on few landscapes and seascapes. 6- What are your artistic and non-artistic interest areas including hobbies? Painting, drawing, photography, graphic design, website building, calligraphy, crochet, knitting. And when the occasion is there, going fishing with my husband. 7- What type of art form, mediums, material, and techniques do you use and give your favorite? · Drawing with simple pencil on simple paper, · aquarelles on aquarelles paper, acrylic on canvas. · My favorite is aquarelles – so much you can do and so much to learn with different techniques. 8- How does art affect your life and why do you continue with your artistic talent? · It makes me Happy. · It’s a part of my journey to feel it complete. · I continue to improve my talent cause whatever happen… talent will always be there. 9- What are you trying to accomplish or say with your art? · - “ Hey folks, Stop! Look around and enjoy all the beauty God puts for us.” · And I just want to improve what I am doing. 10- Who/What inspire you and how? What is your passion? Where do you see of find sources for your ideas and influences on your art? · Who? … My mother who always painting. A lot of different painters with their paint as real as pictures. The great masters of the past in the museums. On TV Bob Ross and others painting shows. · What? Everything around me. Pictures I took, old art books, sunny afternoon with shades. · Where? All around / That can be everywhere. 11- Services you provide? · Drawing perspectives workshops · Calligraphy workshops · Graphic Design for business card and website building.
